Apple had several exciting car-related announcements to make at WWDC yesterday. In addition to showing off some great new CarPlay features, the company revealed that car keys will soon be supported by 13 new vehicle brands inside the Apple Wallet app. Here’s what’s coming.

In Apple’s quest to replace the physical wallet with its Wallet app, the company launched ‘car keys’ in 2020.

The feature is basically exactly what it sounds like: car keys grant access to your vehicle using your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Implementations of car keys vary by manufacturer, with multiple features available case by case. My colleague Chance explains:

You can find a full rundown of currently supported car key vehicles here.

That list will be growing soon, though. Apple revealed that 13 new vehicle brands are about to gain car key support.

Here’s the full list:

There was no specific timeline given for these brands adopting car key support.

However, since Apple made the announcement at WWDC during its iOS 26 presentation, hopefully we’ll see these brands all roll out support some time before the end of the year.

After these 13 brands add car keys, a total of 33 brands will be offered by Apple Wallet.

Do you use car key in Apple Wallet? How has that worked for you? Let us know in the comments.
