Apple is expanding its nature content slate with The Wild Ones, a new six-part series led by former Royal Marines Commando Aldo Kane. You can watch the trailer below.

The show is set to premiere on July 11th, and it follows a trio of wildlife experts as they travel to six countries, capturing rare footage of rare and endangered species.

Alongside Kane, wildlife tech specialist Declan Burley, and ecological filmmaker Vianet Djenguet dive into the world of extreme conservation, going from the deserts of Mongolia to the rainforests of Gabon.

The Wild Ones uses over 350 custom-built remote cameras, thermal drones, AI-powered imaging tools, and even wearable underwater tags to document elusive species like the Malayan tiger, Gobi bear, and North Atlantic right whale.

Among the highlights teased in today’s trailer: the first-ever footage of a Malayan tiger in Malaysia’s Royal Tiger Reserve, thermal night imagery of a Gobi bear in the wild, and a face-to-face encounter with a silverback gorilla.

The Wild Ones joins Apple TV+’s growing slate of nature programming, including Earth At Night In Color and Earthsounds, both of which were also produced by Offspring Films.

As Apple explains it, the new show is designed to spotlight the threats facing endangered and rare species and their ecosystems, while championing the scientific and local efforts working to preserve them:

“The series showcases the threats these endangered species face and how each is intimately connected to the wider ecosystem in which it lives while bringing awareness and support to the scientific endeavors and long-term conservation efforts to help save them.”

The Wild Ones premieres globally Friday, July 11.

Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
