Last week, we got reports that macOS 26 will drop support for a couple of the last generation Intel Macs, though not all of them. However, a reliable source is now reporting that one additional Intel Mac will no longer support macOS 26 â which is now rumored to be named after Californiaâs Lake Tahoe.
This news comes from a reputable private account on X who regularly shares accurate information on upcoming Apple software updates. Though, we choose not to identify this account as theyâve chosen to be private.
According to the account, the 2020 13âł MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt ports wonât receive support for macOS 26. They add that they âdonât quite believe itâ, though I personally think it makes a lot of sense.
The 2 port version of the 2020 13âł MacBook Pro utilized an older 8th generation Intel processor (similar to 2018 models), whereas only the 4 port version utilized the latest 10th generation chipsets. Since rumors already suggested that Apple would not support the 2018 models, this tracks.
In summary, macOS 26 will reportedly support these Macs:
If you have a 2018 Mac mini, 2017 iMac Pro (only model), or 2020 Intel MacBook Air â you wonât be receiving the macOS 26 upgrade if rumors hold up. As for the MacBook Pro side of things, 2020 13-inch 2 port models are no longer rumored to be supported, as well as all 2018 models.
This new rumor complicates things a bit when it comes to 2019 models. Itâs rather unlikely that Apple would support all 2019 MacBook Pros while dropping the 2020 13-inch 2 port model specifically. I could imagine a scenario where Apple supports the 2019 16-inch and 2020 4 port 13-inch models, while dropping everything older.

Featuring two built in cables, a built in display, multiple ports, a 25,000mAh capacity, and up to 100W of output - this is one of the best battery banks for recharging your entire Apple ecosystem on the go.
Despite a new version reportedly being around a corner, I still personally believe AirPods Pro 2 are a great deal. They're already equipped with USB-C, and continually gain new software features. With them consistently going on sale, it's a great purchase to make. Features like Adaptive Audio are incredible.
