Today, Apple unveiled a new Safari interface for iOS 26, bringing its new UI to the system browser. Here’s what it looks like.
With iOS 26, Apple intends to maintain Safari’s familiar elements while introducing a more fluid and unobtrusive design. Web pages now extend edge to edge, reaching all the way to the bottom of the screen to maximize usable space.
The tab bar has been redesigned to float above the webpage, surfacing frequently used actions such as search and refresh. Tapping the bar reveals additional controls through a new Liquid Glass-style animation and behavior, bleeding over the colors and elements of the webpage underneath.
As people scroll through a page, the tab bar automatically shrinks to minimize distractions and keep the focus on content. And keeping in line with the Liquid Glass aesthetic, you can see the webpage warp around and inside the glassy tab bar and buttons.
